10 Senior Posing Ideas for High School Seniors

1. Lean away - Lean away from a wall, a fence, or even a bus! Use walls, fences, cars etc. to draw your eye into the subject and then follow the subjects gaze back into the scene. This creates movement in the picture and makes it much more dynamic.

2. Lying down - on the ground or a bench can create some beautiful perspectives. You can stretch out sideways or simple lay on your stomach or back and kick up your feet.

3. Squatting - squatting or kneeling down can give you an edgy vibe.

Just ask your Senior to squat naturally, and then take some shots from a variety of angles to capture the fun. You can adjust arms or legs as needed, but most teens can pull this off pretty easily!

4. Sitting - Whether your Senior sits on the ground, the steps, a bench or a stump….. Sitting down relaxes them and lets you work your camera around the Senior.

5. Use a Chair - using a fun chair, can give your Senior something to interact with and pose on. They can sit, stand, or lean in a variety of fun ways to make their session unique and fun.

6. Pose on a stool - posing on a stool can be fun too. This Apple Valley California Senior certainly has some natural style.

7. Criss Cross Apple Sauce - crossing your arms or legs or both can really add some movement to the image. Don’t forget to give your hands and feet something to do.

8. Use your gear! - whether you are a musician or an athlete…..Show off your style.

This talented Illinois Senior Girl had so much fun showing off her musical instruments! Posing with your gear gives you something familiar to interact with naturally. This gives an authentic vibe to the Senior Session and Senior Pictures.

9. Arms - Use those arms to create shape. I recommend adding some loose bend, crossing them, holding props, or framing the face.

10. Best Friend - don’t forget to include your best friend in a couple of shots! What a fun way to capture your Senior Year than with a Bestie Photoshoot!
