Organizing!
Who else is busy organizing right now? Do you like the KonMari method by Marie Kondo? I like the idea of it but I am definitely not there yet!
I organized all my cabinets and put all my dry goods and spices into Ball Jars. I love looking through the glass and seeing everything I want to use at a glance.
Some tips for organizing:
KonMari Method - Most of you have likely heard of Marie Kondo and her KonMari Method. In this method you gather up all you belongings - one category at a time and then looking at each item and only keeping those items that regularly “Spark Joy”. Then choosing a place for each item where it will be from that point on.
Keep everything in it’s place - Have a place for everything and keep your items in their designated place. If you don’t have a spot then you need to declutter.
One for one - Once you have decluttered and organized, use the 1 for 1 method to keep your items manageable. One shirt for one shirt. One dress for one dress. One pair of boots for one pair of boots.… ok I know this is a tough one.
Fill your drawers with dividers and mini bins - I have been organizing closets and drawers with mini bins from the dollar store, & from Target. This is a great low cost way to keep things organized and together with like items. Besides Photography, I am a big crafter so I have a ton of things like specilty print papers, paint brushes, sewing items, Cricut items, artist pens, pencils, and markers. It is so helpful to be able to keep each type of media items all together in one bin. I love Targets plastic shoe bins for this!
How do you keep your clutter under control?
I would love to hear your ideas!
